Section titled “108 Application of offence provisions to notices etc. given before commencement of this Act”(1) The provisions of sections 98 and 104 apply to and in relation to acts done, notices given and declarations made before the commencement of this Act in relation to marriages that take place in Australia after the commencement of this Act or that have not taken place but were intended to be solemnised in Australia in accordance with this Act.
(2) For the purposes of the application of sections 98 and 104 to and in relation to an act done or a notice given at a time before the commencement of this Act in relation to such a marriage, a person who at that time was authorised under a law of a State or Territory to solemnise marriages shall be deemed to have been an authorised celebrant at that time.
